Types of Pendants
Whilst a simple chain adds a shine to your personal style, you may find it requires a little something extra to make it stand out. Pendants are particularly useful for acting as the focal point of your necklace; they come in a number of materials and shapes and often feature gemstones for added sparkle. Whichever one you choose should reflect your style and interest, making this jewellery piece a fine addition to your everyday wear.
Drop pendant
A drop pendant can come in numerous designs with many featuring distinctive shapes, concepts and gemstones. Common examples include letters, symbols, rings and a number of creative designs that hang from the centre of the chain. Any of them can feature one or more gemstones or just consist of the metal they are crafted from. Most luxurious pendants are typically set with diamonds, some include an alternate stone that can likely be found in the centre such as a ruby or a sapphire.
Religious pendant
Religious pendants are particularly popular amongst those wishing to express their faith. Within our range for example, you can find a number of pedants centred around Christianity such as crucifixes and ST Christopher. Like drop pendants, they can feature one or more gemstones for an added sparkle.
Halo Pendant
If you know anything about halo rings, then you will know that a halo pendant is reputed for featuring a glamorous centre gem surrounded by a ring of smaller stones. The centre, being the largest gem, acts as the focal point of the jewellery piece and can be any luxurious stone such as diamond, ruby, sapphire, amethyst or emerald. The halo typically consists of clear diamonds which works well for pendants with a brightly coloured centre stone.
Solitaire Pendant
Solitaire pendants feature a single gem which is usually claw set to silver, white, yellow or rose gold. Some examples include smaller stones set on the loop attaching it to the chain.
Heart Pendant
Heart pendants are a rather popular choice, especially amongst individuals looking for the perfect anniversary or valentine’s day gift. Many of them come in unique designs, with some featuring a gemstone or two for an emphasised luxurious look. Despite their differences, the one consistency between all versions of this pendant is its heart shape.
Locket
Lockets can be some of the most personal jewellery pieces on the market, placing a photo of loved ones within this decorative pendant it what makes a locket significant. Common lockets designs feature intricate and often elegant details that can include one or more gemstones. Typically, they are oval, but some can come in other shapes such as rectangles or hearts. Lockets with blank side allow the buyer to engrave a message for further personalisation.
